It’s your first physio appointment for an injury (shoulder “tweak”, hip “pinch”, knee “twinge” whatever it may be). You’ve never been to physiotherapy before and have no idea what to expect.
You’ve probably put off coming to physio because you:
- Were hoping the issue would fix itself, or with the help of YouTube.
- Don’t want to spend money you “may not have to”.
- Don’t think anything will actually help your situation improve.
This is all totally understandable and you are not alone in these thoughts. Just know there is hope and physio is designed to help you MOVE BETTER and LIVE BETTER.
Is physio a quick fix?
No, but nothing worthwhile is! There are stages and in order to truly improve your quality of life and your particular situation, it will take time and stages to heal properly and get you back to golfing, kayaking, or taking your dog for a nice long walk.
What are the phases?
No one wants to rely on pain medications if they don’t have to and we don’t want you to either
Range of Motion
Let’s get back to raising your hand all the way above your head (to reach the treats on that top shelf)!
Now it’s time to rebuild those depleted muscles to prevent any future injuries (and hopefully you won’t need physiotherapy again for that same issue)!
So, is physio for you?
If you are in pain and can’t find relief then YES. Invest in YOUR life.
When you want to watch TV, what do you do? You have to buy a subscription to Netflix or Disney (etc) and you are investing in some “chill time” for you and the family that helps with your mental health. If you need to buy a new vehicle for you and your family, what do you look for? You want a reliable vehicle to take you and your precious family safely to and from each stop. But when it comes to being in pain, you just grin and bear it, right? Well I am here to tell you that enough is enough! If you can’t do the things you LOVE with the people you LOVE because you are in pain, it’s time to see a professional who can get you back to your normal – or perhaps, even BETTER than your normal. You are WORTH the time and money and you and your family deserve you at your best. Here at North 49 we want you to live your best life by helping you…MOVE BETTER and LIVE BETTER.
